ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION BOON TO LEASING INDUSTRY

THE Industrial Credit Company (ICC) says the process of diversifying the economic base in Zambia is providing huge opportunities in the development of the leasing industry. ICC general manager Max Honde said in Lusaka that opportunities were further enhanced with the scaled up drive to fight corruption. He was presenting a paper during the three-day annual African Leasing Association Convention entitled ‘The Zambia Leasing Experience'.

The convention, organised under the theme ‘equipment leasing and the private sector development' drew participants from a number of African countries. Mr Honde said the country's ability to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and the donor interest in the economic affairs were other opportunities the industry had to develop.
