Loita Bank promises innovative products
The Nation , 6 September 2001
Loita Investment Bank chairman Justin Chinyanta said
on Tuesday the bank will continue to introduce innovative
products to offer its clients better services.
Speaking at a farewell cocktail party for the outgoing
managing director Milton Weeks, Chinyanta said Loita
was proud to be associated with the improvements which
have been initiated in the banking sector in the last
two years.
“When we were opening in October 1999 we promised
that we believed banking in Malawi would never be the
same. I am proud to say without any doubt that
banking has indeed not been the same,” he said.
Chinyanta commended Weeks for making Loita one of the
most reliable banks in the country.
Weeks, a Liberian whose contract with the bank has
expired, has handed over the driving seat to Jerome
Bissay, who was seconded to Loita banks in Rwanda and
Angola before coming to Malawi.
Weeks thanked representatives from other banks for
the support they rendered to him during the years he
had been in the country.
He said that Loita Bank managed to post good results
because of the support and cooperation from various
players in the banking sector.
